Game of the Week: Vikings at Steelers

Things are starting to get interesting in week seven and from here on out every NFL betting game seems to take on more importance than week before. So without hyperbole, it’s safe to say that this could be biggest game of the NFL betting season so far.

The Vikings travel to Hienz Field with their unblemished 6-0 record intact. The Steelers enter the game a respectable 4-2, but as seen by their record are an imperfect team. By all indications this should be one helluva game.

Minnesota has racked up its record against average teams and done so either indoors or during fair weather conditions. Pittsburgh promises to be a highly inhospitable NFL football betting environment with frigid 40 degree temperatures and raucous crowd.

But the Vikings have already proven their mettle against the AFC North pulling out a last second win against the Ravens last week.

For fans that saw that game, though, it could easily be interpreted as a good omen for the Steelers rather than the Vikes. Brett Favre and Co. needed a missed field goal in regulation and a few lucky breaks to eek out the win.

The wild card in this equation is Steelers coach Mike Tomlin’s familiarity with the Vikings’ defense, a unit he practically built with his own hands.

The NFL football news lists Blitzburgh as 4-point favorite against the unbeaten Vikings. Minnesota’s pass defense has been atrocious (249 ypg) and despite racking up sacks (21), it’s likely to be severely tested by a red hot Big Ben.

Vikes will return to land of 10,000 lakes with their first loss.
